Day 12 of our 30 Days of May Challenge: Steampunk
We’re up at Nene Valley Railway Wansford today with a cheap £3 platform ticket to see the Steampunk Festival here… there’s lots of Victorian-Scientific-Western-Jules Verne .. actually whatever you want it to be… on show.
The sun’s out and it’s a great day for walking around this vintage area.. old style everything basically. Cross over to the other platform and there are old carriages with lots of shops onboard from handmade creators: costumes, hats, jewellery, bracelets, stockings, rings, even snake handling!

The Steampunk Fashion catwalk started around 12 where we got a great look at all the people in costume, models and not. A great performance of colour and curiosity and a chance for photographers to take some great photos (me included). You can come by train from Peterborough station which costs £16 adult return journey on the #SteampunkSpecial! However, we preferred to come by car so we could come and go as we pleased.
Please note that parking is limited and you are asked to respect people’s front as they live there.
