New life has been breathed into an old club and I was invited to the opening evening last night in Yaxley of this brand new venue.

Dominic bought the old Lancaster Club in Yaxley back in 2020 when it closed and was renovating this big building into apartments and a private man cave but ….then decided to share it with everyone, so he’s created a much larger space to have cocktails, drinks and tapas.

Dominic has a love of drinking wine, jazz and casual soft music… he wanted to create somewhere you can feel at home and chill out. A place which will be great for the locals as well as new visitors.

This is definitely a place for a visit. With a high end black decor twinned with gold touches on table tops, candles and large led lights. People will definitely be asking who the decorator was… The chairs have a velvet feel in burnt orange, dark green and gold. There’s plenty of space and even the loos have style! Black tiles with white and gold.

There is still a blast from its past roots with a Lancaster Bomber painted on the wall and their logo is a propellor. The great thing is on our table with a couple of friends we hadn’t seen in ages and a young female pilot! How coincidental…lol.

This new venture is a cocktail bar, a lounge bar and a place to eat. It’s serving up tapas style food plates for grazing which we enjoyed as our taster session opening night treat. They are great for when you’re feeling nibbly or maybe order something a little larger like a platter for two. I have to say that the young girl running it on her own in the kitchen did an amazing job. Really impressed with her talents.

I’d recommend the chicken skewers – a good serving and very tender chicken pieces with a great taste. Also the meatballs which were Italian styled in a tomato sauce. Yum.

A set of folding doors leads out onto the garden, I look forward to sitting here later in the year when the sun’s out. Future plans are that this area will be expanded so it will become a much larger outside area for sitting, chatting, drinking and dining al fresco. Watch their socials.

There’s a long list of cocktails available. I had the Tequila Sunrise, fresh and flavoursome. A great mixologist showing his skills. I’d recommend it. £9.

I wish Dominic and family all the luck in their new venture.
