I had the pleasure of visiting Alwalton Hall this week as I received a birthday treat voucher, so was whisked away on Friday to enjoy it.
Arriving at the grand house is an experience in itself, a beautiful home which has been turned into this beauty haven. Greeted and given something to drink as I waited for my beautician to come and get me and take me up into a wonderful teal coloured room with a twinkling of soft music. I received a wonderful full body massage from Courtney which was an hour’s relaxation with warm oils. It’s a combination of aromatherapy and Swedish massage; deeply relaxing, relieves stress and muscular tension, just what I needed!
After this, I spent time having a CND Manicure service with a traditional varnish. I had my nails, shaped, buffed and prepped along with a thorough exfoliation and a relaxing hand and arm massage, then added a lovely CND ‘Hot Pink’ glossy shade to my nails (ready for my weekend outing to a Secret Cinema Grease experience at the NEC – Lucky me).
After my treatments were complete I was taken back downstairs to the drawing room and my husband and we went out to a gazebo in the lovely garden for a lunch. We had already prechosen a 2 course lunch of wild garlic Spanakopita followed by asparagus tart for him and pan-fried ricotta gnocchi, tomatoes and bacon vinaigrette followed by a wonderful homemade Basque cheesecake with mango and yuzu compote. Nothing left on the plate! A wonderful setting after a relaxing treatment and great food created and served up from Ben. if they opened their hall up to restaurant eating, I’d definitely go back more often.
If you’re looking for something special and relaxing whether it’s just for you, a gift or a girlie experience, it’s worth looking at this lovely home for your next experience. An alternative to lunch is a lovely afternoon tea, which we spied being eaten by another couple in the garden not far from us which looked very nice or you can have a breakfast brunch instead.
