Day 9 of 30 Days In May Challenge: Fashion
Tonight I spent a lovely couple of hours at the Fashion & Fizz evening at John Lewis raising awareness and funds for Sue Ryder.
The fashion show was held in the coffee shop where a host of ladies with their complimentary Prosecco or orange juice were eagerly waiting to see what’s on trend for the summer.
Victoria from Thorpe Hall Sue Ryder introduces us to the fundraising they do there.
Courtney then introduced us to some summer fragrances.
- Dolce & Gabana – Light Blue for her and him: Fresh and floral and great for the daytime.
- Acqua di Parma – Blu mediterraneo: a shared fragrance for him and her with strong citrus tones.
- Ellie Saab – Girl of Now Shine: a strong, heavy, sweet fragrance.
- Narciso Rodriguez – Pure Music: a dry and musky but subtle fragrance.
Natasha, lingerie fitter, advised that the store offers general fitting, maternity and post-surgery fitting. You can come in on spec and see if anyone is free or book a time slot to suit you. Any bra or swimwear can benefit from their pocketing service for prosthetics.
Caroline gave us some holiday clothing with the tips of sticking to a colour theme throughout so that you took less clothes and could mix and match a lot of the items. The models showed us a complete range of clothing from day wear to evening wear for both young and mature women. It was really interesting to see how a daytime dress then looked smart for evening by simply adding a jacket or a scarf and glizty shoes or a bag. The clothing covered a whole range from instore like Boden, Mint and the John Lewis range to name but a few.

There’s no obligation to buy and they will show you as many brands and styles which will suit you and your body shape as they want you to look your best and be your most comfortable.
As a note at the end we were advised that there will be a style talk on Saturday 11th May at 4pm by Caroline on men’s styling. So if you’re looking for something for hubby, or actually want him to get some guidance, send him along!
We were also then treated to a few hors d’oevres as we chatted with the hostesses and looked through the clothing rail.
