What can I say? FrancoManca has opened at lunchtime today and it’s heaving. You’re obviously pizza fans…. !!!
Newly opened today, we’ve been following their creation day by day on the corner of Cathedral Square right in the heart of the city centre. We lunched at 12 today, as it opened and grabbed a seat inside but next to the opened double doors – on a nice day like this it gives the restaurant a lovely Al-fresco feel.

We tried their Bites To Start: Aubergine Parmigiana at £5.50 and the Free range spicy lamb sausage, roasted potatoes cooked with onions, organic tomato and mozzarella at £5.50. They are both cooked in the pizza oven, so come out in very hot ceramic dishes, watch your fingers!!!! Although they look burnt (from the heat of the oven) the taste was good. 😋
I had one of their famous sourdough pizzas.. Number 7 Lightly smoked beachwood spicy salami, organic tomato, mozzarella, caramelised red onions, home-made Franco‘s chilli oil and fresh basil at £9:95 – however I’m not a heat lover 🥵 so held off the chilli oil. The flavours are awesome – lovely and tangy – and the base is really thin, like I personally prefer it. 😍 It’s going to be a hard choice deciding who now makes the best pizza in Peterborough.

So for dessert – how could I not try their Tiramisu? Especially after it was recommended to me, okay so after one spoonful- it was love at first bite!!! 😍😍😍😍
There is a children’s menu available too which is £6.95 which includes a pizza a drink and any ice cream just ask one of the staff for their special menu.
The staff were friendly and busy and obviously very excited to be open. It’s going to be worth a visit as their pizzas, all bar one, are under £10!!!
