Murder in The Theatre!

Had a great night last night trying to solve a murder which happened in front of our eyes at The Chalkboard on the Embankment.
Doors opened at 6:30pm so started with a Prosecco cocktail, then shortly after our pre-ordered meal of burgers arrived. I had a vegan option and others had the meat burger which came on a slate with skinny fries, some slaw and some relish.
The show, created by RAW Theatre Productions, started with the arrival of a film critic chatting with us. After eating, the show starts with our ‘actor’ actors arriving one by one at the theatre.

The idea is that you watch and listen attentively to the show, writing down as much information as you can (on a pre-given sheet with character descriptions so you know a little about them in advance) because every character has some dark secret that you need to delve into. ‘Aaah !!!! ‘ someone has just been stabbed.

Desserts arrive…A lovely light vegan chocolate and orange cake for me, churros or carrot cake were other choices. Clues are given out throughout the evening, that could be helpful. We had each character come and sit with us for about five minutes so you could question them individually as a team and try and work out who the murderer could be. You also get points if you’ve found out some additional information or secret about each character.

All the characters then stand up at the end of the night and give you more information about them as the detective questions them. We didn’t get the right answer but there were six teams in the whole restaurant that did and the ones with the highest points because they found additional info, won and received a voucher for coming back to Chalkboard.
It was a good evening out and worth the £30 for food and entertainment. All I can say is watch out for the next murder mystery night coming up….
