A slow walk along the embankment on a sunny day really does give a sense of peace and quiet, warmth and just a chilled time to while the hours away. Walking past people feeding the ducks and swans, fishing on the side of the River Nene, the different colours of the barges moored and travelling passed. Even going across to the Fletton Quays build to get some lovely shots from there, makes for a nice photographic walk.
The swans are an icon for Peterborough’s River Nene and today they were in abundance, mainly as they were being fed. The grain barge looms over the walkway with its bright red colouring and the Custom’s house looks nice than ever now it’s had a bit of a refurb and a new roof.
