Took a walk to the centre for an evening meal at Tap and Tandoor Peterborough tonight.
We attended their vip opening night but only had a few nibbles as tasters so decided to dine their properly and get the full flavour of this brand new restaurant.
Anand greeted and seated us in the lower area where it was a bit quieter and near the lovely wall mural.
We ordered drinks and we decided to share everything. We chose a couple of small plates dish: naan slider with the option of chicken tikka… a lovely round naan topped with a sensation of tastes including pomegranate – it was a large starter, it really filled me up to nearly not have a main. Husband had the amritsari fish – a small bowl of fried battered fish 🐟 not too spicy and although it didn’t look much, again it was filling.
Mains choice was the hariyali chicken tikka (gf) which was 5 large pieces of chicken
sitting on a bed of onion – delicious and no spicy heat in that dish. 😉 (have you guessed I’m not a chilli eater!) Husband went for the chicken curry which arrived in a soup sized bowl and an added roti. Tasty and tender but some slight heat to the surrounding curry sauce.
I finished off with the irresisitble sound of the dessert and it was very nice: 3 apple and cinnamon samosa parcels with a delicious creamy delicate Thai ice cream. Mmm worth ordering.
It was a casual, quick and easy night out, sports on in the bar and upper restaurant, good prompt service and quality food.
Food (5 dishes) topped with two soft drinks. £36.
Not bad.
