Kicks off with a Victorian theme - come and try out the Victorian fun fair.

It’s mid-June which must mean it’s the wonderful Peterborough Heritage Festival! And this year the theme is the Victorian Era.

Based over the whole weekend, the Heritage covers the town centre, Cathedral grounds and the museum.

Visit the Victorian fun fair on Cathedral Square. There’s the huge #HelterSkelter#TestYourStrength and #SwingBoats

Visit Heritage Street for some activities too… art, creativity, family history, local history society and where you can see Roland with his free art workshop – Why not make a Father’s Day card or a Father’s Day plaque – something to make for dad for today? There is even a competition… name a fairy for a free ticket draw for A Midsummer Nights Dream this summer. Also at the other end you’ll find other creative areas where you can do some colouring and create a heritage booklet or actually have a go on the loom.

Into the Cathedral grounds we go for some great stalls and activities along with the re-enactment camps for the Roman camps, the Tudors, the English Civil War, World War I, the Victorians, World War II, the Vikings, and alchemy and inside bishops gardens you will find the War of the Roses.

In to Bishops Palace Gardens where it’s the children’s area with plenty of games to play from an era gone by. Also keep going through and you’ll also find archery going on in the final garden. You’ll also be able to sneak a peek at the War of the Roses area tucked away in the garden (let us know if you find it)
