Are you at the Gin and Rum Festival today which is taking place in the cathedral?
I met up with Alice who kindly showed me around before today’s opening and what lot there is to see, or taste should I say! Inside you’ll find lots of places to sit once you’ve got your favourite tipple. When you enter you’ll receive a goody bag with rum and gin listings and your FREE souvenir gin glass.
There are several bar areas to visit for different tastes so make sure you check your booklet before you go over… gin bars, rum bars and a cocktail bar. You’ll also see a few brands showing off their wares like #BrockmansGin #RoundwoodGin and #GinTing. You’re going to be spoiled for choice and colour, believe me.
It’s your chance to have some rum and gin tasting but don’t worry if you’re not into these two as you can visit the cocktail bar for something completely different.! and of course there are also non-alcoholic drinks on offer.
A great idea that they’ve also installed is that if during your time here you feel that you’ve had one too many to drink or maybe you’re just a bit peckish… make sure you pop over to the food stall and get yourself something to eat. There’s a lovely choice of chilli, nachos and cheese or wraps. (well priced too)
There are two slots- one that is bookable for 12:15 until 5:00 and then one later tonight in the evening 6:30-12pm. Tickets are just £10 through Eventbrite and entry is via the main front door at the Cathedral.
