Welcome to Day 25 of our 30 Days in May Challenge: The Greatest Hits of Motown – How Sweet It Is.

I was so fortunate to get tickets to this event as it had nearly sold out at Peterborough Theatre! But, why is it so popular?

Now in its 18th successive year, it’s a stunning 100% live show which combines first-class music with the slickest choreography and an amazing band – it’s set to deliver a truly outstanding performance for the best Motown experience you will ever have! It promises….”This show will have you Dancing On The Ceiling, with songs from legendary artists such as Lionel Richie, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson Five, The Isley Brothers, Edwin Starr and many, many more.”

and here’s what’s been said about it already…
“Outstanding, with some thrilling dance routines, amusing patter and a brilliant backing band which would not have shamed the original Motown session guys’’ . Lancashire Telegraph, Alan Simpson.
“They had the moves, the looks, the voices and every Motown Classic you could ask for” Jersey Evening News, Sarah Harding.
It’s said to be The ULTIMATE celebration of the sweet sound of Motown – Let’s Get Ready… to Go Loco, Down in Acapulco!
– How could I not want to come and see it! So Peterborough Theatre here we come…..
The performance starts at 7.30pm with doors opening at 7pm. We arrive at …. and there’s already a queue to get in.
Doors opened and seats taken the show started around 7.45pm. What a night of great music from these 5 brilliant singers. Great hits from Luther Van Dros, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and more.. I heard it through the grapevine, h.a.p.p.y, my girl, how sweet it is to be loved, the audience were singing along and on their feet dancing in the aisles as well as their seats. A great night of entertainment, great music, great voices and some great moves going on.
If you didn’t see them here in Peterborough you could catch some of their other shows in Hornchurch, Swansea, Eastbourne, Shrewsberry, Potters Bar and lots of others through to November, it’s well worth going. (you’ll find their full listing on their website www.howsweet.co.uk or their social at www.facebook.com/howsweet.co.uk )
The show was organised by TOSB (www.facebook.com/theoldsoulboy) their next event is tomorrow night (26th May) with Shalamar Greatest Hits Live in Watford and Fastlove coming up in July back at the Peterborough Theatre.
